REC was designed to be elegant and intuitive, so there aren’t many settings to fiddle around with in order to get the camera how you’d like it. Tapping the settings button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen opens up the settings screen, and you’ll find the shooting tools under the More tab.

The following options are available:
Grid
Enabling the grid shows a light 3 by 3 grid in the viewfinder. This can help you line up your shot by the popular “rule of thirds”. It can also be helpful in composing your shot when a straight line, like the horizon, is visible.
Histogram
A histogram is a little graph that helps you visualize the amount of light in your photo. The height of each line represents how much of each brightness of light is present. Lines towards the left side of the histogram represent dark tones, with the leftmost being black. Lines towards the right side of the histogram represent lighter tones, with the rightmost being white. With some practice, this can help you strike just the right balance of light and shadows.
Turning on the histogram toggles it on or off on the main screen. While on, it will show up in the top left or right corner (depending on how you’re holding your phone) with a live analysis of what’s in the viewfinder.
UI Toggle Button

Sometimes when shooting, you want a completely distraction-free environment, with no buttons or numbers on screen. The UI Toggle Button is a button that turns off all of the UI, leaving only the viewfinder on screen. After turning it on in the settings, the button appears in the right-hand side of the screen. Tapping the button clears the screen of all clutter. To get back to the controls, tap anywhere on the screen.
Warn If Recording Stops
There are situations in which the iOS camera system will suddenly stop recording, such as when your device gets too hot, or there is insufficient storage. If you’re shooting with your phone mounted on a tripod and pointed at you so you can’t see the screen, you may never notice when it happens, and only 15 minutes later you realize that nothing ever got recorded! REC has a solution for this – Warn If Recording Stops. When you have this setting on, if the recording stops for any reason aside from you pressing the stop button, REC will flash the flash and play a warning sound to alert you.
